Mixed Media 'Be the YOU'

Hi there!

This project started off as a one layer card and then my direction changed completely and the final result is a multi-layer mixed media project - and I enjoyed every minute of creating it.

I was inspired by this photo and used the colors in my project.

I used Distress Oxides for the focal image and the background canvas. The sunflower (CTMY stamp) was colored with prisma's after lifting some of the background color. Added some stenciling to both the focal image, and the background with modeling paste.  Stamped the sunflower image repeatedly on the canvas for continuation.  For texture and interest I layered corrugated board after painting with gesso and distress paint.  To finish off the sunflowers I added glitter glue and prills to the centers and lastly a burlap bow and tissue tape.

Let It Be

When I saw this digital image I just had to color it!

The color scheme is from MFT Color Challenge and I used SN markers.  I wanted some texture so I used alcohol blending solution on the big, bold letters.

To finish it off, I added a butterfly die cut from Vellum as an embellishment.  I'm also linking this to Power and Spark Challenge

Pin-Sights 'Thanks'

July2017

The next two cards were inspired by Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights Challenge.  I am always so inspired by these and this month is no exception.

I gold embossed Mondo Magnolia stamp on glossy paper which I colored with alcohol inks.  To finish off I added washi tape, gold splatters and metallic thread.

I'm also linking this so Simon Says Emboss ItJoy Clair and WOW!

Pin-Sights "Oh happy day!'

I used Bold Blossoms and Bold Blooms dies,  glossy paper colored with alcohol inks, and adhered to Essentials by Ellen embossed card stock.  Popped up the flowers with foam tape for dimension. The sentiment is gold heat embossed.

Thanks for visiting me today and have a wonderful week!

You're Beautiful

Hello!

I'm so happy to have had some time to craft this week-end and I have a few cards to share today.

My first card was made with a few challenges in mind.  The StampTV challenge this week is "Let The Music Move You" and the song which inspired me is "You're Beautiful" by James Blunt.  Here is the link if you'd like to (watch and) listen. I'm also playing along at MSC Spark It Up Challenge and Power and Spark The June Bug Challenge

For the background I used a stencil and Nuvo Mousse and added a sprinkling of Gina K Prismatic Glitter (unfortunately the photo didn't pick all the lovely sparkle from the glitter).  The butterfly and sentiment are all Gina K Designs.

Sketch Challenge

My next card was inspired by My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge.

Sketch Challenge 336 #mftstamps

When I saw the sketch I remembered this lace heart I had in my stash which I thought would be perfect for this challenge.  The sentiment is  MFT Complimentary Greetings.

Pattern Papers

The challenge at Cas-ual Fridays is 'Use Those Pattern Papers'.  Oh and don't we all have loads of them!!  And yet I don't often use them .......

I added die cuts from CF Linked Die and the sentiment is CF Casual Comfort.

Masculine Card

My last card for today is a Masculine card for SSS Monday ChallengeSSS Wednesday ChallengeDies R Us and HLS Anything Goes With Dies.

The background was created using the Faux Leather technique and it really feels like chamois leather!  I used the following dies:- Cheery Lynn Burlap die, Art C Feather dies, Sizzix Celebration Words.
